While you're out on the open road embracing new adventures, the last thing you want is to happen is an accident. GoCamp is here to support you every step of the way, ensuring that any hiccups on the road can be smoothed out if incidents or accidents occur. We're here to help you and ensure your travel experience is as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Uh oh! I've been in an accident. What should I do now?


  • Please stay calm and ensure the safety of everyone involved. GoCamp is here to support you through this process.
  • If there's an accident or any incident (big or small), please give the vehicle owner and GoCamp a call as soon as it's safe to do so.
  • We strongly recommend reporting all accidents to the local authorities, getting a police report if possible, and snapping photos to capture the situation. It's also very important to assess the vehicle's damages properly and carefully in order to capture as much detail as possible.
  • Please get everyone's license and insurance information if the accident involves others.
  • If the accident disrupts your trip, you are responsible for lodging, transportation, or food costs while the vehicle is out of service. Accidents typically result in an insurance claim.
  • If everyone is aware of the accident and the vehicle is still drivable, you can proceed with your vacation. When you return the vehicle, both you and the van owner will thoroughly inspect the damages, take pictures, and report back to GoCamp. It's crucial to be honest with GoCamp and the van owner.
  • Please keep in mind that your security deposit will be held until the owner can look over the damages, document all the details, and obtain an estimate for the repairs.

Protection Plan Coverage


The Protection Plan you purchase as part of your rental should apply as long as you have complied with the GoCamp Terms of Service, your rental agreement, and these Policies. Please remember GoCamp's policy has a $2,500 deductible for comp and collision.

Insurance Claims


Once we clearly understand the repair costs, we will be in a better position to assess the situation. In case of an insurance claim, we ask for your quick cooperation in providing any necessary statements and written information to support the claim with our insurance carrier. This will enable us to secure financial coverage for you after the insurance deductible has been met. You'll need to complete this incident report for us to process your claim.
